Who we are

We are the authentic alternative, with the best value proposition for our clients, employees and our community

About us

At Parbery, our people are driven by purpose and passion. With the spirit of collaboration at our core, we’re shaping a fresh approach to consulting. One that brings people – and solutions – closer together. We’re ready to take the lead, drawing from our wealth of experience to implement end-to-end solutions. We also understand the value of working alongside your team, knowing that the highest authority on your business is you.

Our history

Founded in 2017 by Nick Chapman and Kylie Burnett, Parbery was built with the ultimate goal of aligning community and commercial values for the greater good.

“We’d both had life events that gave us the impetus to reassess how we wanted to live our work lives every day and what compromises we did or didn’t want to make,” Kylie says. “We had both reached the point in life where our integrity and our value set took precedence.”

The Parbery name was key to this connection. It first came to Canberra in 1926 with Canberra’s second dentist and the dental officer for Royal Military College, Duntroon, Mr Norman Parbery, and his wife Ruth. Mrs Parbery was heavily involved in charity, especially the Red Cross and St Paul’s Church of England, as well as being a founding member and president of the Canberra Croquet Club, and president of the Royal Canberra Golf Club.

Nick had researched the history of Parbery Street when he came to the area and was struck by the coincidence of his being the president of the Canberra Croquet Club at the time, and how the Parberys’ significant contributions to the Canberra community aligned with his own priorities. Kylie drew the connection between what the Parbery family stood for and the desire to create a firm that was strongly connected and gave back to our community.

After growing from 3 to 15 employees in that first year, Parbery has continued to grow and make our mark on the industry. From Nick’s living room, we moved to our current digs in Tennant Street, Fyshwick in 2021, opened a South Australia office in 2023, a Victoria office in 2024 and a Queensland one in 2025.
