Aidan is a senior leader with more than 15 years’ experience in cost estimation, financial modelling and the machinery of government, gained through executive roles in the Department of Health and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. He brings deep expertise in the Commonwealth financial framework, the Budget process, strategic policy, and complex program and project management.Aidan has reviewed national health funding models, costed major government investments, provided high-level budget advice to the Minister, and led large-scale transformation initiatives. At Veterans’ Affairs, he oversaw delivery of the Priority Investment Approach—an actuarial modelling program that earned the 2019 Australian Computer Society Gold Disruptors Award and the 2020 Australian Business Innovation Award.More recently, Aidan led the co-design of the Veteran Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy and National Action Plan, working across agencies to ensure veterans’ needs were central to significant mental health investment in the 2021–22 Budget.
